Arts and Crafts
of the month
Lets bring the 70’s back with tie-dye. This is a
project for the whole family. Use old white shirts or light colored
shirts. You will need fabric dye or a tie-dye kit you can find it your
favorite arts and crafts store. Lots of rubber bands, gloves and four to
five buckets or large bowls. Follow the directions on the dye packages.
This project should be done outside ,it can get messy. Try socks, shorts
or even boxer, have fun and get creative.

Summer Fun In The Sun
summer is here and kids are home ! letting children play outside with
activates and friends makes the summer so enjoyable for them . remember to
keep the summer fun and safe .Know what your children have plan for the
day and who they will be with . If you aren't home find friends and family
to help keep an eye out for your children. Talk to them about stranger and
kidnappers keep it honest with out scaring them .Now that days are longer,
kids are out more and more likely to get in trouble or have outside
accidents . so go over the basic summer rules and safety issue. Keep a
first aid kit well stocked in case of a minor injuries. Remember sun block
.Try to keep more bottled water around instead of juices and sodas that
just make children more thirsty. Make summer fun and keep it safe by
staying aware.

Family
Health
Breastfeeding is one of the greatest ways a mother
and baby can spend together. It helps reduce the risk of allergies,
asthma and colds. We all know the baby benefits from breastfeeding in
many ways. Now a study done by Oxford University in England of 150,000
women shows that breast-feeding helps mom fight the risk of breast
cancer .By breast feeding a child for at least 12months it lowers a
women’s risk of having breast cancer by 5%. Even women who have a
family history of breast cancer. This is one of the largest studies done
to monitor the connection of breastfeeding and breast cancer. A women
who is breast fed even for short amount of time has 25% lower risk of
developing breast cancer then a women who was bottle-fed. Although this
study is great news for breast feeding moms and the medical world we all
most remember to still check our breast once a month for lumps and get
regular mammograms. |
